According to a report released by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (I.C.T) Liberia International Airport received 27% more tourism arrivals in the first six months of 2011 compared to the same period of time in 2010. A total of 79,482 tourists in 2010 compared to 100,864 in the trimester of 2011 is representative of the regions growing tourism industry.
